STC Publishing takes on a new name: Polestar Publishing B.V.

On the 1st of January 2021 ‘STC Publishing’, the leading publishing company for maritime students and professionals, became independent of its founder, the STC Group. We are now marking this event by taking on a new name: Polestar Publishing B.V. 

We proudly carry an image of the polestar as our logo: the polestar is, after all, the ‘star of the sea’. A stable and bright star that stands firm in the terrestrial motions and keeps its position in the North. For thousands of years it has guided seafarers on their voyages. As a publisher we aim to do the same: whether you are a maritime student, tugmaster, mate or shipping agent, we will be there to support you in your career, wherever you are and whatever your ambitions. After all, our motto is: ‘know your position, plot your course’. 

At the same time we hope the star will guide us on our new voyages: further expansion of our international market, development of new digital tools and growing our network of students, lecturers and professionals worldwide. We very much look forward to working with you on this and we welcome your ideas, feedback and comments.
