Horst Hecht

Horst Hecht

Horst Hecht is a retired Vice President of the German Maritime and Hydographic Agency (BSH) and, as predecessor to Mathias Jonas, former Director of the BSH Hydrographic Department.

He was for many years involved with ECDIS standardization in many bodies of the International Hydrographic Organization and the International Maritime Organization. After retirement he has been active as hydrographic freelancer and as senior scientific adviser on marine GIS issues to a major geospatial software company.
