Western Maritime Training and Polestar Publishing collaborate on teaching materials for new tug course

Western Maritime Training, a bespoke provider of maritime training courses located in Plymouth, United Kingdom, will be launching an online training for Tug Masters to qualify for SQA level 4 Tug Master <3000t.

Tailormade training for tugmasters specifically is currently scarce. However uniform guidelines and theory are of the utmost importance to ensure that not only tug crew but other stakeholders as well, can work in a safe environment and we therefore welcome this new course of the WMT very much. Polestar Publishing is happy to support their students by providing high-quality, practical and up to date teaching materials that will support them during their new studies. We believe that with relevant publications such as the ‘tug bible’ Tug Use in Port or Ship Manoeuvring, in addition to our experience with developing teaching materials for the maritime industry, we are in an excellent position to do so.
